Obituary of Laura Christine Ferguson

Watch the Tribute Laura Christine Ferguson July 15, 1925 - February 28, 2011 Laura Christene Ferguson passed away on Monday, February 28, 2011, in the loving care of her family and the staff at The Bee Hive in Hobbs, NM. She was born on July l5, 1925, to Harold and Damaris Parks She married William (Bill) E. Ferguson October 17, 1941. Bill and Christene moved to Jal, New Mexico in 1952 where they raised three children and spent the rest of their lives. Christene was a devoted wife and mother. She was a dedicated member of the Jal Church of Christ. Christene was extremely interested in any activities her children and grandchildren took part in and took great delight in attending their ballgames. Christene lived a long and happy life, and her friends and family will always cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother James Mac Parks, her husband of 58 years, and her grandson Jason Ferguson. Survivors include her children, Billie Jean Beckham and husband Monty of Jal, NM; Kenneth Ferguson and wife Connie of Greenwood, Tx.; and Rick Ferguson and wife Paula of Jal, NM; her siblings Harold Wayne and Lynette Parks of Lingleville, Tx., Helen Hampton of Stephenville, Tx., Laverne and J.R. Cardwell of Stephenville, Tx., Jack and Norma Parks of Lingleville, Tx., and Merle Jo Parks of Stephenville, Tx.; grandchildren Brad and Melody Beckham of Jal, Brian and Kim Beckham of Austin, Tx., Laura Jean Giordano of Schererville, IN., and Casey Ferguson of Odessa, Tx.; seven great-grandchildren: Cole, Ryan, Riley, McKenzie, Ty, Gavin, and Mason, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 4, 10:30 a.m. at the Jal Church of Christ with burial to follow at the Jal Cemetery.
