George Floyd August 11, 1917 - September 17, 2007 Graveside services for George Floyd of Roswell, NM will be 1:00 pm Saturday, September 22, 2007 at Tatum Cemetery with Brother Ron Ragland officiating. Mr. Floyd, 90, passed away Monday, September 17, 2007 in Roswell, NM. He was born August 11, 1917 in Roswell, NM. He married Louise Floyd on June 6, 1940 in Lovington, NM. George grew up in southeastern New Mexico where he worked on ranches and rode bulls and saddle broncs as a member of the Cowboys’ Turtle Association, the forerunner of the PRCA. He later ranched in the Roswell, Deming and Fort Sumner areas. Survivors include two sons, Troy Floyd and wife Terry of Roswell, NM and Clayton Floyd and wife Beverly of Hobbs, NM; two daughters, Shiryl Amos and husband Tommy of Hobbs, NM and Janice Measday and husband Dan of Deming, NM; a sister, Ruby Keith of Mason, TX; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Floyd, and his parents, Arthur and Pearl Floyd.
