Obituary of Manuel F. Frausto

Manuel F. Frausto August 06, 1948 - June 08, 2018 Funeral services for Manuel Flores Frausto, 69, of Lovington, NM will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Alonso Quinonez officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Manuel was born August 6, 1948 in Delicias, Chihuahua, Mexico to Abel and Maria Ines (Flores) Frausto and passed away on June 8, 2018 at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock, TX surrounded by family and friends. He served in the US Army, 2nd Battalion, 9th Artillery, 4th Infantry Division during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, as well as a purple heart. He will be remembered for his good heart, great sense of adventure, his love of fishing, his green thumb in gardening, his contagious laughter, his love for playing pool, and his competitive spirit (especially when playing cards) but above all, the love of his family and friends. He knew no stranger. He was preceded in death by his parents: Abel and Maria Inez Frausto and one brother Juan Frausto. Surviving him are his two sons: Edward and wife Rosie Frausto of Lubbock, TX. and Manuel Frausto Jr. of Bakersfield, CA.; two daughters: Diana and husband Greg Wilken of Bakersfield, CA. and Jannette Frausto of Bakersfield. CA; two brothers Luciano Frausto, Sr. of Hobbs, NM, and Fred Frausto of Farmington, NM; two sisters: Emma and husband Javier Jimenez of Tatum, NM and Mary Bonilla of El Paso, TX.; six grandchildren: Alexus, Jesse, Victoria, Aaron, Carly and Aiden. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 1:00 pm until Rosary Time at 7:00 pm at St. Thomas Catholic Church.
