Obituary of Billy Eugene Freeman

Billy Eugene Freeman July 12, 1936 - June 28, 2011 Funeral services for Billy Eugene Freeman, 74, of Lovington, NM, will be held on Friday, July 1, 2011 at 10:00 am at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Chapel with John Ayers officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven cemetery. Mr. Freeman was born on July 12, 1936 in Crenshaw, Mississippi to James and Ester Belle (Ivy) Freeman and passed away at his residence on Tuesday, June 28, 2011. He was married to Dawna (Disney) Freeman on July 10, 1953 in Carlsbad N.M. Mr. Freeman and his wife moved to Lovington in February from Nashville because of his health. He worked in the automobile industry for many years before his retirement and he also worked at Midland Chrysler /Plymouth and was a great salesman. He was a wonderful Father with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed country music and loved to sing and was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves. He found the Lord in 1988 and was a faithful servant. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Thomas and Rudell Freeman and two sisters: Katherine Hallum and Beatrice Lanford. He is survived by his wife, Dawna of the home, one son: Billy and wife Donna Freeman of New Smyrna Beach, FL and three daughters: Karen and husband Henry Gutierrez of Lovington, NM, Sandy and husband Marvin Summers of Lebanon, TN and Sharon and husband James Blackwood of Lebanon, TN; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at the funeral home.
