Obituary of Dawna Mae Freeman

Dawna Mae Freeman August 31, 1935 - September 04, 2017 Funeral services for Dawna Mae Freeman, 82, of Lovington, NM will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 10:00 am at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Chapel with Ty Bean and Sarge Summers officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Dawna was born on August 31, 1935 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Jasper and Pauline Disney and passed away on September 4, 2017 at her residence. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and is now rejoicing with her Lord and Savior, pain free, with her family and friends that had gone before her. Dawna was a loving mother and grandmother. Her family was her life. She made the best homemade rolls and was “famous” for her animal shaped pancakes. Dawna was such a classy lady. She was preceded in death by her husband Billy Eugene Freeman of 58 Years; her parents: Jasper and Pauline Disney; one daughter: Sharon Blackwood; two brothers: Wayne and Charles Disney. Surviving her are her daughters: Sandra and husband Sarge Summers of Porter, TX and Karen and husband Henry Guiterrez of Lovington, NM; one son: Billy and wife Donna Freeman of Smyrna Beach, FL; one son-in-law: James Blackwood of Lebanon, TN; four sisters: Paula Sebesta, Wanda Boles, Wilma Smith, and Beth Lynch; nine grandchildren: Misty, Taimi, Jason, Jeremy, Christy, Jeff, Billy Lee, Jamie, and Suzanna; twenty-three great-grandchildren: Jimmy, Chelsey, Taylor, Joshua, Rebecca, Joseph, Jeremy, Jordin, Jadyn, Madison, Jason, Tyler, Alaina, Hunter, Colby, Kyle, Kobe, Emilia, Kaitlyn, Dallas, Karlee, Adley and Emmy; three great-great-grandchildren: Jaylin, Kaiden, Matthew and good friend Janice Fitts. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 from Noon until 7:00 pm with the family in residence at the funeral Home from 5:00 – 6:00 pm.
