Obituary of Bill Sam Fuller

Watch the Tribute Bill Sam Fuller August 08, 1927 - November 08, 2011 Memorial services for Billy Sam “Bill” Fuller, 84 of Jal, New Mexico will be held on Friday, November 11, 2011 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Jal with Bro. David Fletcher officiating. Burial will be held privately at a later date. Services are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Bill was born in Anonna, Texas on August 8, 1927 to E. N. and Jessie (Hunt) Fuller and passed away in Hobbs on November 8, 2011. He attended school in Texas, receiving his Bachelor’s degree from East Texas in Math and one Master’s degree in Education from North Texas State University and another Master’s degree from Oklahoma University in Earth Science. He taught school in Texas before coming to New Mexico in 1965 to teach in the Jal School System. He taught Math, Science, History and Computer science before retiring in 1987. He taught school for over 30 years total. Bill was a deacon at First Baptist Church in Jal and also taught Sunday School there. He was a member of the Jal/Eunice Masonic Lodge, the Order of Eastern Star where he served in 2007-2008 as Worthy Grand Patron for the State of New Mexico. He was a man who knew a lot about many things and never met a stranger. He was a highly respectful and kind gentleman who loved his family very much and therefore was most respected by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Newton Fuller. He is survived by his wife, Donnie of the home, three daughters: Lynda Johnson of Hobbs, NM; Donna Sue Fuller of Houston, TX; and Laura and husband Glenn Brewster of Hobbs, NM; one brother, Bob and wife Phyllis Fuller of Florida; one sister: Pat and husband Tom May of Houston, TX and five grandchildren: Brandon Johnson of Levelland, TX, Tiffany Johnson of Hobbs, Nicholas Fuller of Hobbs and Timothy and Casey Brewster of Hobbs and a host of friends.
