Obituary of Roberta Marie Garcia

Roberta Marie Garcia March 01, 1960 - January 23, 2016 Funeral services for Roberta Marie (Palma) Garcia, 55, of Lovington, NM will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 10:00 am at Living Waters Church with pastors Danny and Shirley Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Roberta was born on March 1, 1960 in Santa Fe, NM and passed away on January 23, 2016 in Lubbock, TX. Roberta was a single mother of two boys and worked for the Lovington Schools for fifteen plus years. She was a hardworking woman who enjoyed being active and loved to dance. She enjoyed taking walks at the park and sitting under the willow tree by the lake. She spent a lot of time reading her Bible. Roberta was lovingly called “Maberta” by her grandchildren, who were her joy in life and she dearly loved them. She would play football with them; throw tomatoes on the roof as a silly game and played red light, green light with them. She was good at spoiling them, sometimes with things but more than anything, she spoiled them with love. She was a good friend to many people, a loving mom and mother-in-law and an amazing grandmother. Roberta was preceded in death by her father, Joe Palma and one brother: Elmer. Surviving her are her two sons: Raul and wife Jessica Garcia of Lovington and David and wife Maribel of Lovington; her Mother: Anita Palma of Lovington; Six grandchildren: Ayden, Brennen, Caylee,Trey, John and Arieanna and eight siblings and their families.
