Watch the Tribute James Bedford Garner January 13, 1931 - November 27, 2011 Graveside funeral services for James Bedford Garner, 80, of McIntosh, NM will be held on Friday, December 3, 2011 at 11:00 am at 3rd & Central Church of Christ with Dale Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. Garner was born on January 13, 1931 in Salt Gap, Texas to Barnabas and Anise (Roberts) Garner and passed away in Albuquerque, NM on November 27, 2011. He married Lenora Joy Smith in Lovington, NM on December 23, 1948. Mr. Garner owned and operated Garner Drilling in Grants, NM for many years and even after retirement he still worked in the summers. He loved drilling, enjoyed sports and in the early years he enjoyed hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter: Marilyn Kay Garner and one brother: Jerry Garner. He is survived by his wife Joy of the home, two daughters: Jamie Lynne Garner of McIntosh, NM and Lenora Kim Ethridgehill and husband, Martin of Albuquerque, NM. One sister: Bernice Patterson and husband Frankie of Comanche, TX, and a sister-in-law, Jewel Greenwood of Lovington, NM and two brother-in-laws: Chester Phil Smith Jr. and wife Betty of Belen, NM and Dennis Roy Smith and wife Mable of Lovington, NM.
