Obituary of Nelva Garrett

Nelva Garrett August 09, 1955 - May 02, 2013 Funeral services for Nelva Jean Garrett, 57, of Lovington will be held in Hallsville, Texas at the family cemetery at a later date. Mrs. Garrett was born in Hallsville, Texas on August 9, 1955 to J. T. Rollins and Artensia Wabbington and passed away in Lovington on May 2, 2013. New Mexico arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. She moved to Lovington when she was a little girl and has resided here for over 40 years. She married Allen Garrett on May 21, 1982 in Lovington and they have shared 31 years together. Nelva loved her home filled with the things she loved and she made friends wherever she was and left an impression with her caring and compassionate nature. She did not attend church but was faithful to watch and listen to her CD’s and DVD’s of Bishop Patterson and other preachers on TBN. She was guarded by Bible scriptures written on her heart and she loved the Lord with all her heart. She stuck to her beliefs and her teachings of how she wanted her family to live will ring in their lives forever. The family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers and loving support as they travel this grief journey for a loving wife, mother and grandmother She was preceded in death by her parents and her step-father George “Red” Williams. Nelva is survived by her husband of the home; one daughter: Reynell and husband David Moody of Shepherd, Texas; one grandson: John Allen Cook of Lovington, NM; one granddaughter: Tamara Johnell Cook of Shepherd, TX; numerous aunts, uncles,. cousins and friends.
