Obituary of Naomi Marie Gooch

Naomi Marie Gooch March 08, 1934 - April 03, 2018 Funeral services for Naomi Marie Gooch, 84, of Lovington, NM will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 10:00 am at New Beginnings Church with Pastor David Villar officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 pm at Twin Oaks Cemetery in Artesia, NM. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Mrs. Gooch was born in Colorado Springs, CO on March 8, 1934 to Jake and Mabel (Warner) Adams and passed away on April 3, 2018 at her residence in Lovington. Naomi has been in Lovington for about four years but had also lived for many years in Tatum and a short time in Oklahoma. She was a member of Treece Holiness Church in Kansas and loved that church very much. She attended and enjoyed New Beginnings Church and loved gospel piano music. She liked sewing, baking and bowling and had a great sense of humor. She was a happy, giving, loving person that loved everyone in a special way. She would tell everyone that you should always hug each other and she gave the best hugs of all. She loved her family and was very proud of her children! To quote her, “I have the best three kids in the world” was a familiar saying she shared with anyone and everyone around her. She will be greatly missed. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Stanley Gooch Sr.; four brothers and four sisters. Surviving her are her two sons: Stanley and wife Shanna Gooch of Carlsbad, NM and Stanley III and wife Lyndsey Gooch of Miami, OK and one daughter: Vera and husband Choya Young of Tatum, NM; one brother: Jakey Adams of Seneca, MO; two sisters: Nettie Adams and Mable Ann Weicht of Seneca, MO; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and one step- daughter: Patty Dorman. Visitation will be held from 2:00 -6:00 pm Thursday, April 5th at the funeral home.
