Obituary of Charles Dale Goodson

Charles "Tooter" Dale Goodson June 26, 1939 - June 23, 2018 Charles Dale “Tooter” Goodson was called home on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the age of 78. He was born in Lane, OK to Charles Randall and Evie (Hammond) Goodson on June 26, 1939. He graduated from Ruidoso, NM high school in 1958. In his early years Tooter worked as a cowboy on several ranches in Oklahoma and later moved to Lovington, where he spent many years working in the oilfield. In his free time he loved to ride and care for his horse. He spent many years cutting in local cutting events. He also enjoyed gardening, barbequing for all of his families’ events and he even had his own secret recipe for his homemade barbeque sauce that he kept well-stocked in his house. He liked reading western books and watching old western movies. Preceding him in death were his parents: Charles and Evie; four older brothers: Lloyd, Edward, D.J. and Billy Wayne Goodson and three sisters: Minny Sullivan, Anne Turner and Francis Janelle Goodson. Tooter leaves behind his loving wife of thirty one years, Jerri Davis of Lovington; his only son: Bob Goodson of Odessa, TX; his two adopted daughters: Desiree and husband Angel Gallegos of Midland, TX and Jessica and husband Chris Green of Opelousas, LA; and two step-children: Jim and wife Lisa Atchison of Stanton, TX and Cindy and husband Larry Bright of Midland, TX; Also eleven beloved grandchildren and six energetic great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dave Rowser officiating.
