Ross Gunn March 19, 1935 - April 04, 2014 Graveside funeral services for Ross T. Gunn, 79, of Lovington, NM will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. Gunn was born on March 19, 1935 in Tishomingo, Oklahoma to Travis and Fay (Elkins) Gunn and passed away on April 4, 2014 in Lubbock, TX. He was raised in Oklahoma and came to New Mexico in the mid 50’s where he met and married his wife, Jo Clydene Sanders in Carlsbad, NM on December 15, 1957. He has lived in Lovington for over 50 plus years. In the early years Ross was a member of the New Mexico Mounted Patrol and the Ambucs. He loved fishing, hunting and he enjoyed working. He was employed by Ferguson Construction for over 50 years. He loved his family, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Elmer Leo, Louie Donald and William “Bill” Gunn and two sisters: Sue Adams and Orlue Lowe. Ross is survived by his wife, Clydene, of the home; one son: Travis and wife Wanda Gunn of Lovington and one daughter: Rhonda and husband Ray Miller of Hobbs; two sisters: Thelma Kizer and Wanda Drewry, both of Commerce, TX; three grandchildren: Barry Marks of Alamogordo, NM, Kelly and husband Brandon Babcock of Hobbs, NM and Justin and wife Lisa Gunn of Lovington, NM; seven great-grandchildren: Cody , Cayden and Gavyn Marks; Braidon, Madison, and Bentley Babcock and Jacob Gunn. Visitation will be on Monday, April 7, 2014 from noon until 8:00 pm.
