Obituary of Leona Pearl Bryant

Leona Pearl Bryant September 24, 1923 - November 17, 2012 Graveside funeral services for Leona Pearl Bryant, 89, of Lovington will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at 2:00 pm with David Stewart officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Mrs. Bryant was born on September 24, 1923 in Corpus Christi, TX to Arnold and Julia Mae (Bellany) Dean and passed away on November 17, 2012 at her home. She was an independent lady who enjoyed eating out, shopping, playing Yahtzee and watching game shows. Her greatest pleasure was enjoying and being with her family. She married Murray Bryant in September of 1939. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three grandchildren: Vanessa Vaughn, Jamie Pigford and Ricky Pigford and two brothers: Bobby Dean and Mike Fleenor and also two sisters: Winnie Kelley and Ione Dykes. She is survived by five daughters: Peggy and husband Jim Fancher of Kerrville, TX, Rosalee Tisdale, Janice and husband Gary Fitts, Julie and husband Harvey Price all of Lovington, NM and Leona and husband Rod Sutherland of Irving, TX; one brother: Charles and wife Ila Matter of Athens, TX and two sisters: Patricia Stroman of Birmingham, Alabama and Billie Sue and husband Jim Lindsay of Deming, NM. She was blessed with thirteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 from 8:30 am until 8:00 pm and on Wednesday from 8:30 am until noon.
