Obituary of Peggy Stafford Helms

Peggy Stafford Helms March 06, 1929 - March 09, 2011 Funeral services for Peggy Stafford Helms, 82, will be held on Monday, March 14, 2011 at 10:00 am at First Christian Church in Lovington with Mike Crow, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Peggy was born on March 6, 1929 in Allen, Oklahoma to Arthur and Desi (Lamb) Trivitt and passed away in Hobbs, NM on March 9, 2011. She was an avid Christian and enjoyed God’s Learning Channel. She loved to dance and won several trophies in dance contests, she also enjoyed playing Bingo. She welcomed her kids spouses with love and open arms and made them feel a part of her family. Her greatest joy and hobby was her grandkids. She was a wonderful Mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; a great friend of God and a caretaker of everyone that she crossed paths with. She had the greatest day of her life when she took Jesus by the hand as He led her to the face of God. Thank you for being part of our lives, we will miss you Mother. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack Leroy Helms; two brothers: Roy Gene Trivitt and James C. Trivitt and two sisters: Glenda Sue Trivitt and Patricia Ann Soules. She is survived by her five children: James C. Helms and Ida Ortega of Merced, CA; June Finch and Howard Gibson of Farmington, NM; Rhonda and Bobby McCraw of Lovington, NM; Johnny and Betty Helms of Carlsbad, NM and Michael Paul Helms of Hobbs, NM; two sisters: Thelma Lee Burhans of Youngstown, AZ and Darlene Dinwiddie of Walla Walla, WA and two brothers: Ray Dean Trivitt of Carlsbad, NM and Charles L. Trivitt of Maranna, AZ. Also 27 Grandchildren, 82 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday, March 13, 2011 from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
