Obituary of Florine Scott Henderson

Florine Scott Henderson September 10, 1920 - December 16, 2015 Funeral services for Florine Scott Henderson, 95, of Lovington, NM will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Chapel with David Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Florine was born in Lovington, NM on September 10, 1920 to Arthur T. and Willie Belle (Wood) Scott and passed away on December 16, 2015 at her residence. She grew up in Lovington and graduated from Lovington High School then attended Amarillo Business College. During this time she married David Henderson in Shamrock, TX on July 23, 1944 and returned to Lovington. She was employed by Jack Danglade for fifty years plus as his office manager and secretary, and made sure the Christmas decorations at the Danglade House were ready for all of Lovington and surrounding areas to enjoy. She worked in the office until it closed in 2012, always worried about what she was going to do if she could not work. She had very strong work ethics, even to walking to work in the snow when she was younger and felt roads were too bad to drive. Florine was a very private person with a quick wit and sense of humor. She was an independent and frugal lady who was kind, smart and very intelligent. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister, Vanita Sue Newton Scott; her brothers, Eddie Ray Scott and an infant brother and her niece: Suzanne Scott Gandy. Surviving her are two nephews: Allan Scott of Lovington, NM and Bill Scott and companion, Brian Scott of Rancho Mirage, California; one great niece Ashley Rae Everett and husband Garrett of Lovington and one great-nephew: Cooper Dale Gandy of Lovington.
