Watch the Tribute Forrest Glenn Henry December 25, 1921 - January 10, 2012 Funeral services for Forrest G. Henry, 90, of Lovington, NM will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Chapel with David Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Forrest was born on December 25, 1921 in Loco, Oklahoma to Sol and Zada Henry and passed away on January 10, 2012 at Lovington Good Samaritan Center. The Henry’s moved to Lovington around 1938. Forrest served his country during WWII and after completing his service he returned to Lovington. He married Patsy Horton Foster on November 7, 1977. He loved baseball and played professional for two years as a pitcher. He was well known, as an umpire, to the young people of Lovington. He also enjoyed golf and fishing. He retired from Texaco and spent the next 27 years enjoying life with his wife, kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, friends and family. . He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Patsy, his step-mother, Jewel Henry; one daughter, Rebecca Lynn Shannon; one son, Bobby Henry; one grandson, Jerry Hodge and three brothers: Jimmy, Wendell and Royce Henry. He is survived by one son: Forrest Dale Henry of Atlanta, GA and one daughter, Cindy Zada Haseloff of Rockport, TX; two step-sons: Steven Dane Foster and wife Cheryl and Michael Scott Foster and wife Donna, all of Midland, TX; one step-daughter, Robin and husband Danny Johnson of Lovington; twelve grandchildren: Daniel, Rebecca, Courtney, Laramie, Shane, Savannah, Lance, J.P., Allison, Gabe, Damien, and Amy. Also five great-grandchildren: Buford Rushe, Kaelyn, Ava, Todd and Jackson. Visitation will be Friday, January 13, 2012 from noon until 8:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am until service time. Quote from Scott Foster: So, Forrest Henry, has passed away also, on the eve of my Mother, his wife’s, funeral … I suppose he decided it was in his best interest to go with his wife so they could spend eternity together. For all of my Lovington friends who remember that resounding voice echoing across the baseball field “STRIKE”!... Forrest went into extra innings to end the game with his loving wife…
