Obituary of Aristeo Hernandez

Aristeo Hernandez September 04, 1947 - July 28, 2016 Funeral services for Aristeo Hernandez, 68, of Lovington, NM will be held on Monday, August 1, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Redentor Molina officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Aristeo was born on September 4, 1947 to Enrique and Maria del Rufugio (Dominguez) Hernandez in San Antonio de Bravo, Chihuahua, Mexico and passed away on July 28, 2016 at his residence. He married Dolores Herrera in Dickens, TX on May 6, 1967 and they have shared fourty-nine years of life together. Aristeo was a musician and enjoyed playing his bajo sexto. He loved watering his trees and talking to them, and taking care of his animals. He loved to have all his family together and have family gatherings. Aristero and his wife would never miss any family events, they were always there. He was preceded In death by his parents: Enrique and Maria del Rufugio Hernandez. He is survived by his wife of the home, Dolores Hernandez; two sons: Ricky Joe Hernandez and Aristeo Jr Hernandez both of Lovington, NM; two daughters: Nancy and husband Jesse Marquez of Lovington, NM, and Gracey and husband Rudy Sanchez of Lovington, NM; five brothers: Oscar and wife Rosa Hernandez of Mexico, Ascencion and wife Maria Hernandez of Odessa, TX, Vicente and wife Bianca Hernandez of Portales, NM, Pilar and wife Carmen Rivera of Hobbs, NM, and Clemente and wife Elia Rivera of Lovington, NM; two sisters: Benita and husband Harold Martinez of Sonora, TX, and Susana and husband Everado Cavasos of Lovington, NM; ten grandchildren and a host of friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016 from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm and on Sunday July 31, 2016 from 2:00 pm until after the rosary time with rosary at 6:00 pm at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Chapel.
