Obituary of Delia Hernandez

Watch the Tribute Delia Hernandez September 04, 1959 - June 17, 2011 Funeral services for Delia Hernandez, 51, of Lovington, NM will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 2:00 pm at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Delia was born on September 4, 1959 in Raymondville, Texas to Thomas and Eva (Flores) Leiba and passed away on Friday, June 17, 2011 in Lubbock, TX. She was employed as a waitress at Baja Grill at the time of her death. She was a people person and truly enjoyed her job. She was an excellent waitress, always a lady and very friendly to all. She loved dancing, shopping, and liked to decorate. Her grandchildren were her joy in life. She was preceded in death by her father, her sister, Daisy Leyva and her brother, Thomas Leyva Jr. She is survived by her Mother: Eva Leiba of Lovington and three sons: George and wife Jessica Hernandez of Lovington and Eric and Christian Hernandez of Lovington and one daughter: Amy Hernandez of Lovington and her special companion, Jay Hare of Lovington. Also surviving her are three grandchildren, Michael Torres and Brynn and Aubrey Hernandez; three brothers: Bobby and wife Alice Leyva of Lovington; Ruben and wife Maria Leyva of Lovington and Ray and wife Carmen Leyva of Colorado; two sisters: Eva and husband Nick Jiminez of Snyder, TX and Maria Carrisles of Snyder, TX. She is also survived by her former husband, George A. Hernandez of Lovington and a host of friends. Rosary will be Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 7:00 pm at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Visitation will be Tuesday from noon until rosary time. Donations may be made to Estacado Credit Union, Acct # 4305-02 or taken to Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home in her memory. These will be given to the family.
