Obituary of Nancy Ann Hopper

Nancy Ann Hopper October 10, 1936 - August 10, 2011 Graveside services for Nancy Ann Hopper, 74, of Lovington, NM will be held on Friday, August 12, 2011 at Lovington Cemetery at 10:00 am with Bro. Mack McCarthick officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Nancy was born on October 10, 1936 in Waurika, Oklahoma to Dudley H. and Henrietta (Schurtz) Britton and passed away on August 10, 2011 in Lovington. Nancy married Kevin Hopper on February 7, 1953 in Comanche, Oklahoma and they have shared 58 years together. They came to New Mexico in 1955 and moved to Lovington in 1967. She was a long time member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and of Lovington #35 Order of Eastern Star Chapter. She had a fun loving spirit and was a joy to be around. She traveled the State with OES members and was very active locally and Statewide. She enjoyed crocheting and was always doing things to help others. She loved her family and was a wonderful wife, mom and Nanny. Her smile and presence will be missed by many. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Richard Britton and a baby sister. She is survived by her husband, Kevin of the home, one daughter, Kathy and husband Kelvin Woody of Lovington ; one son, Kevin and wife Cindy Hopper of Austin, TX; and one sister Ruth Jones of Comanche, OK, five grandchildren and four great- grandchildren and a host of loving friends. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations may be made to the church of your choice.
