Obituary of Jesus Acosta

Jesus Acosta February 27, 1957 - November 27, 2011 Jesus “Chuy” Acosta Funeral services for Jesus “Chuy” Acosta, 54, of Odessa, will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at St. Thomas Catholic Church at 10:00 am with Father Manuel Ibarra officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Rosary will be Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 at 7:00 pm at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Chapel. Chuy, as he was called, was born in Lovington, NM on February 27, 1957 to Gumercindo and Encarnacion (Viscaino) Acosta and passed away at his home in Odessa on November 27, 2011. He worked in the oilfields on pulling units from the time he was 16 years of age until his retirement. His joy was being with his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Maria Del Socorro Acosta; two brothers: Polo and Oscar Acosta and one sister: Ambrosia Marquez. He is survived by two children: Jesus Acosta of Odessa, TX and Yuridia and husband Adolfo Galindo of Odessa, TX; four brothers: Hilario & wife Dominga Acosta of Terlingua, TX, Severiano and wife Elva Acosta of Lovington, NM , Santos Richard Acosta of Mesquite, TX and Jose Luis and wife Araceli Acosta of El Paso, TX. Also 5 sisters: Clarita Gonzalez of Ft. Stockton, TX, Carmen and husband Manuel Molinar of Lovington, NM, Braulia Arenivas of Lovington, Reyes Gonzalez of Lovington and Emilia Espinosa of Lovington.
