Obituary of Florence Hutchings

Watch the Tribute Florence Hutchings January 22, 1930 - October 17, 2013 Funeral services for Florence Hutchings, 83, of Lovington, NM will be held on Friday, October 25, 2013 at First United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Elder Donald Vaughn officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Mrs. Hutchings was born on January 22, 1930 in Elgin, Texas to Hiawatha and Willie Lou (Anderson) Nash Sr. and passed away on October 16, 2013 in Lubbock. Florence was the oldest of 15 children and she has lived in Lovington for 60 years. She was a long time member of Macedonia Holiness Temple Church. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, reading her Bible, singing and in earlier years was a beautician and caregiver. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Felix; three brothers, Louis, Cairo, and Hiawatha Nash; one sister: Willie Mae Barrs; one grandchild: Shawn O’Neal and three great-great-grandchildren: Diamond Mackey, Jermaney and Alaki Heckard. She is survived by one daughter: Lena Mae O’Neal of Lovington; six brothers: Freddie and wife LeeNorma Nash of Elgin, TX, David and wife Bobbie Nash Sr. of Elroy, TX; Sonny and wife Magnolia Nash of Elgin, TX; Glenn Nash of Elgin, Tucker Nash of Austin, TX and Raymond and wife Jorene Nash of Elgin, TX; three sisters: Rose Hall, Mary Nash and Dorothy Nash, all of Austin, TX; four grandchildren: Darla Marshall of Lovington; Jamie and wife Jeannie Hutchings of Manor, TX and Sherrie and husband Terrance Heckard of Hobbs, NM and 15 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
