Watch the Tribute Mildred "Lorine" Atkins September 15, 1922 - November 15, 2012 Funeral services for Mildred “Lorine” Atkins, 90, of Lovington, will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Hillcrest Baptist Church with David Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Lorine was born on September 15, 1922 in Black Rock, Arkansas to Joseph and Fannie Donnie (Harris) Wilson and left this world to be with her Saviour on November 15, 2012 at Lovington Good Samaritan Center. She married Delmer “Buck” Atkins on August 4, 1941 in Montezuma, Kansas. She had lived in Lovington since 1975 moving here from Maljamar. She enjoyed walking and exercising, going to the Senior Citizens to be with her friends and cooking for her family. She was a sweet Christian lady and loved her church and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Yvona Marie Lovelette; two sisters: Bertha Mae Hamilton and Nellie Atkins; four brothers: Lee, Bill, Darrell and V. E. Wilson. She is survived by two sons: Delmer “Gene” and wife Barbara Ann Atkins of Lovington and Darrell Wayne and wife Pam Atkins of Artesia, NM; one daughter, Rita Jo Breshears of Lovington and one brother: Johnny and wife Ruby Wilson of Lovington. Also nine grandchildren: Anita Davis and Becky Lemley of Lovington; Gayla Mathews of Artesia; Gary Cantrell of Oklahoma; KaLonna Phillips of Edmond, OK; Rodney Atkins of Gonzales, TX; Kendall Atkins of Lovington; and J.D. and Lance Atkins of Artesia; sixteen great grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Friday, November 16th from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm with the family in residence from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
