Obituary of Carolina Jaquez

Carolina Jaquez June 16, 1924 - March 26, 2016 Mass service celebrating the life of our beloved mother, Carolina Coss Jaquez, 91, will be held on Wednesday, March 30, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Lovington, with funeral arrangements being handled by Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Officiating will be Father Redentor Molina. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Our mother was born on June 16, 1924 in Agua Fria, Chihuahua, Mexico to Onesimo and Maria (Rico) Coss. After a lengthy illness, she left this world on March 26, 2016 at Espanola Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her loving children, who will miss her forever. She was preceded in death by her parents; then her oldest son, Miguel Angel, followed by her husband Norberto and Lori Jaquez granddaughter then youngest son, Lorenzo, her daughter-in-law, Alicia Jacquez and grandson, Cristoval Morales. Carolina was hooked on telenovelas and could be relied on to give animated updates on her favorites with personal opinion added in. She loved to crochet and when she was able, cooked us many loving delicious meals, which we wish we could duplicate. Surviving her are her son, Armando and wife Betty Jacquez of Albuquerque; Daughters: Arminda and husband Jesse Mendez of Santa Fe; Manuela Hernandez and her partner Armando “Hil” Garcia of Lovington. She also had ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
