Obituary of Raymond Lee Byrd

Raymond Lee Byrd June 09, 1939 - May 20, 2009 Funeral services for Raymond Lee Byrd, 69, of Monument, NM will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Kirby-Smith- Rogers Chapel with burial following at Lovington Cemetery. Bro. Ron Ragland will officiate. Services are being directed by Kirby-Smith- Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. Byrd passed away at his residence on May 20, 2009. Raymond was born in Lovington, NM on June 9, 1939 to William Carroll Sr. & Charlcia Florine (Croy) Byrd. He attended school in Monument and worked for a short while at the Monument Filling Station and Grocery store when he was young, later working on the Byrd Ranch with his family. He enjoyed taking care of his dogs, riding the 4-wheeler to check and feed the cows and especially watching TV. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, William Carroll Byrd Jr. He is survived by two brothers, J. R. & wife Joanne Byrd of Monument, NM and Robert Byrd of Monument, NM., his nephew, Jackie & wife Loretta Byrd of Monument and several other nephews and nieces. Visitation will be Monday, May 25, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
