Mary Jane "Jaynie" Kilpatrick September 09, 1945 - March 06, 2016 Funeral services for Mary Jane “Jaynie” Kilpatrick, 70, of Lubbock, TX and formerly of Lovington, NM will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Chapel at 2:00 pm with Pastor Gilbert Arreola officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Jaynie was born in Memphis, TN on September 9, 1945 to Andrew Rodgers and Madelyn Blanche (Carter) Kilpatrick and passed away at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, TX. She was employed by Exxon – Mobile for sixteen years, retiring from them in 1996. Jaynie was well known to the employees at the Court House and Lea County Electric and several other business places as she used to delivered water to them, and was called “The Water Lady”. She loved animals, especially horses and dogs and enjoyed working outside. She planted many trees by herself at her home when she lived in Lovington. She collected arrowheads and liked going to Pioneer Steakhouse to eat a good meal. She loved her Sheltie dogs and until the last few years, was never without a Sheltie. She was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving her is her brother: Michael Kilpatrick Carter and his wife Nancy of Memphis, TN and two nephews: Scott Michael Carter of Ft. Worth, TX and Bryan Patrick Carter and wife Muffy of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Also surviving her, are her close friends and caregivers for many years, Gilbert and Doris Arreola of Lovington.
