Norma Ruth King December 25, 1925 - August 20, 2009 Graveside funeral services for Norma Ruth King, 83, formerly of Lovington, will be held on Monday, August 24, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Lovington Cemetery. Dave Rowser, Pastor of Jackson Ave Baptist Church will officiate. Mrs. King was born December 25, 1925 in Lovington, NM to Homer & Katie Lister Johnson and passed away in Albuquerque, NM August 20, 2009 at Anna Kaseman Presbyterian Hospital. Norma was raised in Lovington and graduated from LHS in 1944. She attended Baylor University and New Mexico State University and then married her sweetheart, Carl King in 1947 in Lovington. They made their home in Albuquerque and have lived there all 61 years of their married life with the exception of 3 months time. She was of the Baptist faith, enjoyed reading and traveling to the mountains and made several trips to the Pacific Northwest with Carl. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Jake Lister and is survived by her husband, Carl King of Albuquerque. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials made be made to Jackson Ave Baptist Church at 837 West Jackson, Lovington, NM 88260. Services are being conducted by Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home
