Obituary of Lula Mae Kirby

Lula Mae Kirby April 20, 1917 - April 22, 2009 Funeral services for Lula Mae “Lue” Kirby, 92, will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at 10:00 am at Lovington Good Samaritan Center with David Stewart officiating. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Kermit Cemetery in Kermit, Texas. Services are being conducted by Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Lue passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Good Samaritan. She was born on April 20, 1917 in Hamilton County, Texas to Ambrose Barwick Yarbrough and Bula Mae (Mullins) Yarbrough. Lue was a resident of Odessa, TX for many years and later became a resident of Deerings Nursing Home in Odessa for 5 years before she moved to Lovington in 2007 and made her home at Good Sam. She attended the Church of Christ in Odessa, enjoyed music, dancing and flowers and was a people person. She is survived by two sons: James & wife Bettye Kirby of Lovington, NM and Johnny & wife Janice Kirby of Harlingen, TX; one daughter, Barbara Hancock of Odessa, TX; one sister, Gay Frances Milligan of Cleburne, TX; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
