Obituary of Eva Leiba

Watch the Tribute Eva Leiba October 16, 1924 - February 23, 2012 Funeral services for Eva Leiba, 87, of Lovington will be held on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Manuel Ibarra officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Rosary will be at 7:00 pm on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Chapel. Mrs. Leiba was born on October 16, 1924 in Raymondville, Texas to Monico and Maria (Pena) Flores and passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Hobbs Health Care. She lived at Punta del Monte Ranch near Raymondville when she was young and in later years moved to Snyder, TX and then to Lovington in 1993. She married Tomas Leiba on April 26, 1943 in Raymondville. Eva was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She was a great homemaker and was very family oriented. She loved her children and grandkids. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four young children and also two daughters, Daisy Martinez and Delia Hernandez and one son, Tomas Leiba Jr., one sister, Guadalupe Flores Silguero and one brother,Jose Maria Flores. She is survived by three sons: Ramiro and wife Carmen Leyva of Perryton,Texas; Ruben and wife Maria Elena Leyva of Lovington; Robert “Bobby” and wife Alicia Leiba of Lovington and two daughters: Eva and husband Nicolas Jiminez and Maria Santos Carrisales both of Snyder, TX.; one brother, Monico Flores of Kingsville, TX; thirty four grandchildren, sixty nine great grandchildren and forty great, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday, February 25th from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm and Sunday from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
