Obituary of Cecil Ruth Lennox

Cecil Ruth Lennox September 09, 1935 - August 09, 2018 Funeral services for Cecil Ruth Lennox, 82, of Lovington, NM will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Del Norte Baptist Church with Kevin Warner officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Lovington arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home and Albuquerque arrangements are being directed by French’s Funeral & Cremations. Cecil was born in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan on September 9, 1935 and passed away on August 9, 2018 in Lovington, NM. He enlisted in the Air Force after graduation and served during the Korean Conflict. During his last year, he was stationed at Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, NM, where he met his wife, Charleene Mitchell. At the same time he left the Air Force, Charleene graduated from High School and they were married on August 24, 1957 in Las Vegas, NM. Cecil earned his teaching degree from NM Highland University and his Master’s in Physics at Purdue University in Indiana. He taught Physics at Monzano High School; Electronics and Robotics at TVI in Albuquerque. He was also an avid cyclist and golfer. He was preceded in death by his parents: Theodore R. and Minnie (Ruth) Lennox and one son, Richard Lennox. Surviving him is his wife, Charleene of Lovington, NM; one daughter: Christina Solley of Odessa, TX; one son; Robert and wife Michelle Lennox of Portland, OR; one daughter-in-law: Martha Jo Lennox of Lovington, NM; three grandchildren: Krista Lennox, of Hobbs, NM, Matthew Lennox of Houston, TX and Stephen Lennox of Lubbock, TX. Also two brothers: Frank and wife Rena Lennox of Chicago, IL and T. R. Lennox of Lima, Ohio and several nieces and nephews .
