Obituary of Helen Marie Baker

Helen Marie Baker December 24, 1928 - November 08, 2007 Graveside services for Helen Marie Baker of Hobbs, NM will be at 10:00 am Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hobbs, NM. The Revs. Dean Mathis & Bob Brown will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11th at the funeral home. Mrs. Baker, 78, of Hobbs died Nov. 8, 2007, at Vista Care Carillon in Lubbock, Texas. She was born Dec. 24, 1928 in Forest, N. M. She married Ray O. Baker on Jan. 23, 1946 in Clovis, N.M. Helen was a member of Taylor Memorial Baptist Church and at one time was a member of Rebekah’s Lodge. She loved to sew, read, paint ceramics, watch golf & basketball & painted Oil portraits. She loved her family & grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Ray O. Baker to whom she had been married for 61 years; 1 son, Randy & wife Jean Baker of Huntington Beach, CA.; 1 daughter, Brenda & husband John McBeth of Universal City, TX.; 1 sister, Theo Feland of Hobbs, NM; 1 brother, C.D. Hunt of Clovis, NM; 4 grandchildren, Scott McBeth, Kristi Daby, Lisa Baker & Alina Hays; 3 great-grandchildren, Taylor McBeth, Amanda Beller & Breanna Daby; & numerous nieces and nephews.
