Obituary of Joyce Lee Lynn

Joyce Lee Lynn September 17, 1930 - March 15, 2009 Graveside services for Joyce “Joy” Lee Lynn, 78, will be held on Friday, March 20, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Lovington Cemetery with Reverend Vergil Ichtertz officiating. Joy passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2009 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in Oklahoma City, OK. on September 17, 1930 to James Melvin & Ruby Lee (Bean) McMinn. Services are being conducted by Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Joy married Joe Lynn on July 11, 1953 in Bartlesville, OK. She came to Lovington in 1966 and taught Kindergarten at the Lovington Schools for many years. Teaching the little ones was the love of her life. She was a Methodist, a member of AARP and the Retired Teachers Assoc. In the last several years she has made her home in San Antonio, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Melvin & Ruby Lee McMinn and her husband Joe Lynn. She is survived by 2 sons: Jeffery “Kent” Lynn of San Antonio, TX, Jim & wife, Sherri Lynn of Bartlesville, OK, and 2 daughters: Ruby & husband, Ray Soutiere of Bethany, OK, and Amy & husband Terry Lee of Shepherdsville, Kentucky and one sister, Ruth & husband Robert Henderson of Clute, TX. and 5 grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, March 19th from 8:00 am until 8:00 pm and Friday from 8:00 am until noon.
