Obituary of Reyes M. Marquez

Marquez, 70, of Lovington, will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at 2:00 pm at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. Marquez was born on January 6, 1941 in Paso de San Antonio Manuel Benavidez, Chihuahua, Mexico to Rafael and Sabina (Moreno) Marquez and passed away on January 31, 2011 at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock, TX. He married Lidia Corrales on August 14, 1962 in St. Helena, Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rafael and Sabina Marquez and one brother, Jesus Heredia. He is survived by his wife Lidia of the home and seven sons: Rene and wife Sara Marquez of Hobbs, NM; David and wife Luly Marquez of Lovington; Rafael and wife Carol Marquez of Hobbs,; Jesus and wife Nancy Marquez of Lovington; Adam and wife Stacie Marquez of Lovington; Reyes and wife Dianne Marquez of Lovington and Omar and wife Grace Marquez of Lovington; six brothers: Librado, Vicente, Policarpo, Refugio, Genovevo and Martin Marquez and two sisters: Candelaria Reyes and Julia Alvarez. Also surviving him are his grandchildren: Nathaniel, David, Ty, Adrian, Kristopher, Alexander, Jesus, Jessyca, Addison, Avery, Ryan, Sabrina, Estephen, Ezequiel, Joaquin, Manny and Briseis and one Great-grandaughter: Aubree. Rosary will be on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 7:00 pm at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 1, 2011 from 10:30 am until 6:00 pm at the funeral home and on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 from 8:30 am until 1:30 pm.
