Obituary of Steven Lee McCraw

Watch the Tribute Steven Lee McCraw November 08, 1940 - July 08, 2010 Funeral services for Steven “Steve” Lee McCraw, 69, of Lovington, will be held on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at 3:00 pm at Jackson Ave Baptist Church with Phil Hinson officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery. Services are being conducted by Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Steve was born on November 8, 1940 in Roswell, NM to Carl Elba and Sarah Janice (Harper) McCraw and passed away at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock on July 8, 2010. He came to Lovington in 1954 and graduated from Lovington High School in 1958. One of the highlights of his senior year was being awarded the FFA State Farmer degree. He farmed in the Prairie View area for over 40 years before retiring. He was a longtime member of Jackson Ave Baptist Church, serving as usher for many years and always faithful to church and Sunday school as he loved his church. He enjoyed watching western movies and loved being with his nieces and nephews. Steve was a quiet, gentle man full of goodness. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ronald Gene McCraw. He is survived by his brother, Joe and wife Jeannie McCraw of Lovington, NM and his sister, Patricia June and husband Phil Hinson of Midland, TX, four nieces, four nephews and a host of friends.
