Obituary of Bonnie Ray McDaniel

Bonnie Ray McDaniel October 29, 1936 - February 19, 2015 Memorial services for Bonnie Ray McDaniel, 78, of Lovington, NM will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 am with Connie Crow officiating. Mrs. McDaniel was born on October 29, 1936 in Lamesa, Texas to William Ray and Bonnie Jean (Williams) Cates and passed away on February 19, 2015 at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock, Texas. Bonnie had lived in several places during her lifetime but most of it was in West Texas and New Mexico. She married Glenn McDaniel on January 14, 1955 in Lovington. She and her husband owned and operated restaurants and at one time had a Deli in Mesilla, NM and owned and operated a restaurant and Bar at Riverside, just out of Ruidoso. She loved Ruidoso and worked at the Inn of the Mountain Gods Casino and Billy the Kid Casino. She was a fun loving lady with a wonderful sense of humor and was an excellent cook. She loved her puppy dogs and her family was the joy of her life. She was a music lover, especially of the older country music and enjoyed dancing. She loved cleaning house, hated clutter and kept everything in its place. Bonnie had moved from Ruidoso and returned to Lovington in 2006 with her husband, to make their home close to her children. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Glenn and is survived by one son: Kevin McDaniel of Odessa, Texas and one daughter: Elaine and husband Kenny Wallace of Lovington and one brother: Bill and wife Chunrong Cates of Sherman, TX; three grandchildren: Stacy and husband Gilbert Sandoval of Lovington; Travis Wallace and his companion, Melinda Beal of Lovington and Casey McDaniel of Odessa, TX.
