Obituary of Billy Pat Barnes

Watch the Tribute Billy Pat Barnes May 28, 1937 - March 05, 2012 Funeral services for Billy Pat Barnes, 74, of Oakdale, California, formerly of Crossroads, NM, will be held on Friday, March 16, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Chapel with Bro. Ron Ragland officiating. Burial will be before the chapel service at 1:00 pm at Lovington Cemetery. Billy was born on May 28, 1937 in Crossroads, NM to Joe Hunter and Esther Jane (McClure) Barnes and passed away in Modesto, CA on March 5, 2012. Billy was raised in Crossroads and graduated from school in Tatum, then attended Eastern New Mexico University. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Crossroads. During his years in Lea County, he was a team roper, a PRC member, a rodeo participant and he loved going prairie dog hunting. He moved to California and has been there for over 40 years and worked as an electrical contractor before his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents. Billy is survived by twin children: son, Jeff Barnes of Missouri and Jennifer Barnes of Elk Grove, CA; one sister: Anna Marie Crook of Clovis, NM and one brother: Raymond and wife Virginia Barnes of Bloomfield, NM; three nephews: Jake Barnes of Cave Creek, AZ and Dr. Keigm Crook of Albuquerque and Dr. Kevin Crook of Ruidoso, NM and one niece: Roma Colbert of Delores, Colorado; also one grandson: Tristan of CA.
