Obituary of Robert Meyn

Robert "Bob" Meyn April 13, 1927 - February 13, 2007 Funeral services for Robert "Bob" Meyn, 79, formerly of Lovington, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2007, at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home Chapel. James Kirby will officiate. Cremation has taken place. Born July 13, 1927, at Manhattan, New York, he passed away February 13, 2007, at his residence in Spencer, Iowa. He was married to Catherine McDonnell in 1952 in New York. He attended school in Queens, New York. They moved from New York to Belvidere, New Jersey and in 1975, moved to Lovington where he was employed in the oil fields for 14 years. After retirement, he moved to Everly, Iowa, where he resided with his sister and later moved to Spencer, Iowa. Survivors include two sons, Michael Meyn of Henryville, PA, and James "Harry" Meyn of Carlsbad; three daughters, Mary Bailey and her husband, Mike Kennemer of Carlsbad, Kathleen "Kat" Voyles and her husband, Lonnie, of Lovington, and Eileen Meyn of Lovington; seven grand-daugthers, Bonnie Bailey and her husband, Chris McKenzie of Albuquerque, Dawn Daniell and her husband, Trey, of Carlsbad; Sugar Perez and her husband, David, of Albuquerque, Amber Gibson, Deidre Combs, and Katy Voyles of Lovington, and Mary Ann Meyn of Missouri; six grandsons, Billy Ellis and Lonnie Voyles of Lovington, Kane Meyn of Oklahoma, and John, Bobby and Kevin Meyn of Carlsbad; and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Minnie (Heidt) Meyn; his wife, Catherine McDonnell Meyn; sons, Robert J. and Richard Meyn; sisters, Helen Ketelsen and Marie Cummings, and brothers, Arnold Meyn and Lawrence Vesper.
