Obituary of Ernesto Michel

Ernesto Michel November 01, 1970 - February 28, 2018 Graveside services for Ernesto Michel Jr., 47, of Colorado and formerly of Lovington, NM will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Lovington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, and from 10:00 am till service time on Wednesday . Ernesto was born on November 1, 1970 in Lovington to Ernesto and Andrea Michel and passed away in Colorado on February 28, 2018. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Born and raised in Lovington he spent most of his life traveling as he did not like to stay in one place. Ernesto was a very kind, creative and intelligent individual. He was gifted in a lot of different areas. His mentality did not allow him to stick to one thing. He did electrical work. He was a tattoo artist. He was very crafty with any material. He has left his footprint with all of his kindness, creativeness and intelligence. He enjoyed nature very much. Sleeping under the stars, hiking, fishing and anything else that had to do with nature. He was very helpful and a champion of the underdog. One of his interests was “cleaning up dirty politics, with clean tactics.” Surviving him are his parents: Ernesto Sr. and Andrea Michel of Lovington,; one daughter: Divina Michel of Oklahoma; one brother: Mauricio Michel of Florence, Colorado; three sisters: Vilma Michel and Ofelia Gomez, both of Lovington, Blanca and husband Raul Navarrette of Lovington; thirteen nieces and nephews and ten great-nieces and nephews.
