Obituary of Raquel Casillas

Raquel Casillas January 11, 1947 - March 29, 2017 Funeral services for Raquel Casillas, 70, of Lovington, NM will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Chapel with Pastor Ascencion Gonzalez officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Raquel was born in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico on January 11, 1947 to Petronilo and Margarita (Moreno) Torres and passed away on March 29, 2017 at Nor-Lea Hospital. Raquel loved her children and grandchildren they were her life. She liked to travel to visit her sisters; liked going to church when she could and enjoyed cooking as she was a good cook. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jesus Casillas: and one son: Jesse Casillas; two sisters; Luz Maria Colunga, and Margarita Moreno Torres. Surviving her is her three daughters: Bertha Casillas of Hobbs, NM, Mary Hernandez of Lovington, NM, and Rachel Vejar of Lovington, NM; one son: Ruben Casillas of Lovington, NM; two brothers: Saul Torres and Jose Luis Torres both of San Antonio, TX; four Sisters: Estella Martinez, Gloria Torres, Ermelinda Torres, and Julia Torres all of San Antonio, TX; thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017 from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
