Obituary of Manuel P. Molinar

Manuel P. Molinar March 28, 1938 - January 17, 2017 Funeral services for Manuel “Molinar” Molinar, 78, of Lovington, NM will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 1:00 pm at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Redentor Molina officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Rosary will be Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 7:00 pm at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. Molinar was born in San Carlos, Chihuahua, Mexico on March 28, 1938 to Mercedes and Ventura (Piña) Molinar and passed away on January 17, 2017 in Lovington. He came to Lovington in 1959 and made his home here. He was a carpenter who loved his work, a man with a big heart and was always giving away whatever was needed to others. He enjoyed raising goats; liked Spanish music and was a fun person and the kids said that they had never gotten a spanking from him. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Maria Carmen; one sister: Aubina Garcia and one brother, Jesus Jose Molinar. Surviving him are two sons: Hector and wife Amy Molinar and Auden and wife Scarlett Molinar both of Lovington; five daughters: Gloria Torres; Amanda and husband Rogelio Hernandez; Erminia Alvarado, all of Lovington and Ermelinda and husband Ramiro Juarez of San Antonio, TX; Veronica and husband Angel Vasquez of Odessa, TX; also three brothers: Jose Ramon and wife Gloria Molinar of Victoria, TX; Rigoberto and wife Gloria Molinar of Odessa, TX and Rogelio Molinar of Odessa, TX; five sisters: Maria Isabel Molinar of Odessa,TX ;Tomasa Dominguez of Santa Elena, Mexico; Consuelo Mendias of Fort Stockton, TX, Lupe Gamboa of Inez, OK and Mercedes Montes of Carlsbad, NM; twenty seven grandchildren and twenty one great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 10:00 am until 6:30 pm at the funeral home.
