Obituary of Elizabeth Nell Morris

Elizabeth Nell Morris June 19, 1929 - March 17, 2016 TATUM, NEW MEXICO: Elizabeth Nell Morris, age 86, died Thursday evening, March 17, 2106 at Nor-Lea General Hospital Lovington, NM following an illness. Mrs. Morris was born June 19, 1929 in Sherman City, KS. Her parents were William and Mary Mae (Shields) Barmore. She had lived in Tatum since 2011, moving from Oswego, KS where she had lived most of her life. She worked several years at Glenberry Manufacturing in Oswego. She later worked at the Kansas Ammunition plant, Parsons, KS. She was a member of the Nazarene Church in McCune, KS. Her husbands, Edward Shannon, R. C. Jackson, and Gerald Morris all preceded her in death. Two grandchildren also preceded her in death. Surviving are 9 children and their spouses: John and Marilyn Burns, Tatum, NM, John and Cindy Shannon, Oolahgah, OK, Carol McKinney, Oswego, Evelyn Shannon, Oswego, Edward “Leon” and Debbie Shannon, Sherman City, Janet Scott, Independence, KS, Steve and Ellen Ghering, Oswego, Jake and Nancy Beck, Chetopa, KS, and Marjorie Reynolds, Oswego; 20 grandchildren; and several great and great-great grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, rural Oswego. Pastor Steve McBrien and John David Walker Jr will officiate.
