Jack Jean Norris December 23, 1933 - April 24, 2011 Jack J. Norris, 77, of Lovington passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2011 at Nor-Lea Hospital. He was born on December 23, 1933 in Snyder, Texas to Joe and Veola (Parker) Norris. He married Betty (White) Norris on January 16, 1954 in Snyder. They have shared 57 years together. After school, Jack served for 3 years in the US Navy on the aircraft carrier, USS Philipine Sea during the Korean War. After the war, he and Betty settled in S. E. New Mexico to raise their family and Jack worked for Union Oil Company until his retirement. He enjoyed coaching Pee Wee and Little League Baseball and taking the family on camping and trout fishing trips to Northern New Mexico and Colorado. He liked going to the racetrack in Ruidoso and he was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. He loved his family and visits from the grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: James B. Norris and two sisters: Jocie Bieger and Ethel Norris. He is survived by his wife, Betty of the home; three sons: Barry Norris and finaceé Michelle Bennett of San Angelo, TX; Dennis and wife Sharon Norris of El Paso, TX and Russell and wife Suzanne Norris of Lovington; one daughter, Celinda Willis of Lovington; one brother, S. W. and wife Nell Norris of Sweetwater, TX and one sister, Anita and husband Alfred Blair of San Angelo, TX. Also 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren survive him. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
