Virgil O'Briant June 08, 1924 - January 18, 2015 Graveside services for Virgil Lionel O'Briant, 90, formerly of Lovington, but residing in Copperas Cove, TX at the time of his passing, will be held at Antioch Cemetery on January 24, 2015 at 2:00 pm with Bro. Travis VanMeter officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Virgil passed away January 18, 2015 in Temple, TX at the Central Texas VA Community Living Center (hospice unit). He was born June 8, 1924 in Fisher County, Texas to Marion Franklin and Mary Jane O'Briant. He married Reita Spears on Jan. 11, 1956 in Lovington, NM. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and was also a member of the VFW having served in the Army during WWII. He is survived by 5 daughters: Becky Manning of Leuders, TX, Patsy Womble & husband Hilton of Leuders, TX (from a previous marriage), Ronda Davis & husband Ken of Albuquerque, NM, Virginia Richmond & husband Willie of Copperas Cove, TX, and Deana Swartz & husband Alan of Weatherford, OK, 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Virgil was preceded in death by his wife, Reita, his parents, 7 brothers, 6 sisters and one infant child.
