Obituary of Otis Wade O'Neal

Otis Wade O'Neal December 03, 1963 - December 28, 2014 Otis Wade O’Neal, 51, formerly of Lovington, NM passed away on December 28, 2014 at his home in Austin, TX. He was born on December 3, 1963 to Jimmy Lee O’Neal Sr. and Elner Boulden O’Neal in Lovington, NM. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, January 2, 2015 from 10am-6pm at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Kirby Smith Rogers Funeral Chapel in Lovington, NM. with Donald Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Otis gave his life to Christ at an early age and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Otis repented of his sins and recived Jesus on December of 2014. Otis graduated from Lovington High School in 1981 and went to join the US army and received an honorable discharge. He received his Associates degree from NMJC and later attended University of Phoenix studying psychology where he became a youth counselor. He later started working with AZ State Hospital. He later decided on nursing receiving his CNA in Texas. Otis hobbies were music, sports, antique collecting and joking around. Otis was always the life of the party. He was preceded in death by his father: Jimmy Lee O’Neal Sr., both maternal and paternal grandparents, and one brother: Christopher O’Neal Gardener. He is survived by his mother: Elner O’Neal of Austin, TX, two brothers: Jimmy Lee O’Neal Jr. of Odessa, TX and Demetris O’Neal of Denver, CO. one sister: Renea O’Neal Nash and husband Joe of Austin, TX, and also by five nieces and 2 nephews.
