Obituary of S.G Orand

S.G "Jimmy" Orand March 02, 2012 - June 01, 2012 Funeral services for Sebastian G. “Jimmy” Orand, 93, of Lovington, NM will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Mr. Orand was born on March 2, 1919 in Richland, Texas to Tom and Thelma Lee (Nixson) Orand and passed away at his home on Friday, June 1, 2012. He grew up in Richland and graduated high school there then attended, what was then called, Southwest Texas State Teachers College in San Marcos, TX. While in school he enjoyed playing basketball. He married Natalie Fee in Ennis, Texas on July 10, 1943. He was a faithful fan of football and basketball and the Lovington Wildcats. His favorite hobbies were camping, hunting and fishing. Jimmy has been a Mason for 68 years. He joined in Richland and is also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Albany, TX. He came to Lovington in 1967 from Albany and is a long time member of Jackson Ave Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Jerry Clifton Orand and Thomas Dixson Orand and one sister: Marjorie Orand Jenkins. He is survived by his wife, Natalie of the home and one daughter; Judy and husband Tommy Embree of Lovington and one grandson; James Embree of Lovington.
