Obituary of Cheryldean Owen

Cheryldean "Cheryl" Owen September 28, 1976 - May 17, 2018 Graveside memorial services for Cheryldean LaVelle Owen, 41, of Alamogordo and formerly of Lovington will be held on June 1, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Lovington Cemetery with Bro. Harry Pittam officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Cheryl was born in Hobbs, NM on September 28, 1976 to Norman and Donie Fern (Anderson) Owen and passed away on May 17, 2018 in Alamogordo, NM. Cheryl grew up and graduated in Lovington in 1995. She was a good student and attended cosmetology school for a short while. She also was employed at the detention Center for ten years. She enjoyed reading and watching TV and was considered a funny girl with a good sense of humor. She was proud to be a Christian and she not only shared her faith but she lived her faith. She was active at her church in Alamogordo when she was well enough to attend. She loved life, she loved people and she had many friends. Her greatest love was her children. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: Darrell Owen and one nephew Shawn Pollock. She is survived by two children: Alyssa Hernandez and Isaiah Hernandez of Hobbs, NM; her half-siblings: Lonnie and wife Sharla Jackson of Los Lunas, NM; LaWanda and husband Rodney Tanner of Lovington; Elizabeth and husband Leroy Peterson of Midland, TX and Charlene Perrin of Lovington; also eleven nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
