Obituary of Viola Mae Barton

Viola Mae Barton August 17, 1928 - July 01, 2014 Viola Mae Barton, 85, of Lovington, NM passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at her residence. She was born on August 17, 1928 in Oklahoma to Mr. & Mrs.Floyd Kelly Beene. She moved to Lovington in 1956 and became a contributing member of the community. She raised her children and then later was employed at the court house and then for Elliott Waldron Title & Abstract for forty years. She had an outgoing personality and enjoyed entertaining and was always willing to help where she could. She was a member of the Altrusa Club and a member of Lovington Chapter # 35 Order of the Eastern Star since 1985. Viola was said to be the “nicest lady in town, helpful and friendly” and she will be missed by her family and friends.
