Obituary of Bucky McCoy Parent

Bucky McCoy Parent November 25, 1942 - February 08, 2016 Bucky McCoy Parent, 73, of Hobbs, NM, passed away on February 8, 2016 at Country Cottage Care & Rehabilitation Center. He was born on November 25, 1942 in Lindsey, California to David and Opal (Parker) Parent. Mr. Parent had lived in several New Mexico areas, growing up and attending school in Hagerman, NM but had also lived in Deming and Los Lunas. He had spent fifteen years in Colombus, NM where he owned and operated a propane business. Bucky married Judith Ka Smith in Las Cruces January 10, 1981. He was a coin collector and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping and especially loved the lake. Bucky was a family man and really loved his time at the family reunions. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving him is his wife, Judy, of Mesilla Park, NM; two sons: Dean and wife Angie Parent of Lovington and Steven and wife Yolanda Parent of Lovington; one step-son: Raymond Gee of Deming, NM; one step-daughter: Lisa Malone of Las Cruces, NM and one sister: Cindy Thompson of California; six grandchildren: Daniel and wife Heather Parent of Lovington, Brandon Parent, Denniea Parent, Dandee Parent, Brandon Pebsworth and Colby Pebsworth and eight great-grandchildren, the newest one being Wyatt Parent. Bucky’s wish was to be cremated and there will be private family services later.
