Watch the Tribute Harley Ivan Patman December 12, 1917 - February 10, 2012 Funeral services for Harley “Ivan” Patman, 94, of Lovington, will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 10:00 am at First United Methodist Church with Jaron Graham officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Services are being conducted by Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. Patman was born on December 12, 1917 in Waxahachie, Texas to William Clayborn and Loneda (Daley) Patman and passed away on February 10, 2012 in Lovington. He married Marjorie Greenwood in Lubbock, Texas on October 4, 1945. He grew up on a farm in Ropesville, Texas and came to Lovington in 1950. He farmed here until 1969 when he began working for Marvin Watson. Mr. Patman served in the US Army during WWII. He fought in the “Battle of the Bulge”, Rhineland Central Europe, Normandy, Northern and Southern France and Ardennes. He received several medals for his part in protecting our country. In later years Mr. Patman enjoyed ceramics with the Senior Citizens and he was considered a “pool shark!” Nine ball was his game…. He taught his grandson how to play pool. He was a member of Lovington Masonic Lodge #46 and the First United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters; Evelyn Patman, Thelma Walton and Reba McNabb. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie of Lovington, one son: Dan and wife LeeAnn Patman of Lovington and two daughters: Eloise and husband Richard Walker of Scottsdale, Arizona and Pat and husband Robert Capps of Lovington. One brother: L. D. and wife Imojune Patman of Lovington and 3 grandchildren: William Clayburn Patman of Blanco, TX; Gael (Patman) and husband Brad Morrow of Lovington, NM and Daniel Capps of Lovington and one great-grandaughter, Hannah Boss of Lovington. Visitation will be on Monday, February 13, 2012 from 8:30 am until 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association, PO Box 90790, Albuquerque, NM 87199-0790.
