Visitation will be on Thursday, January 17, from noon until 8 p.m. with the family in residence at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Mr. Patman was born on January 3, 1922 in Roscoe, TX to William Clayburn and Loneda (Daily) Patman and passed away on January 14, 2013 at University Medical Center in Lubbock, TX. L. D. served in the United States Navy during WWII as a Boatswain’s Mate First Class. He married Imojune Loveless in Ropesville, TX on August 15, 1947 and they have shared 65 years of marriage. In 1948 they moved to McDonald where L.D. farmed and ranched. He farmed for 42 years at McDonald and especially loved the ranching part as he had a passion for cattle and horses and encouraged his girls and grandkids to participate in 4-H, playdays, rodeos and parades. L.D. was their greatest fan and was very involved in their activities. He was active in the Farm Bureau and enjoyed visiting with his “Mainstreet coffee buddies”. He and Imojune also enjoyed being with their friends at the Senior Citizen Center. He attended First Church of the Nazarene. His joy in life was his family and it could be said he was the “epitome of a good, loving family man.” He was preceded in death by: his parents; a baby daughter, Debbie Renee Patman; one brother, Ivan Patman; and three sisters, Evelyn Patman, Loretta Walton and Reba McNabb. He is survived by: his wife, Imojune of the home; two daughters, D’Linda Burdick and husband Dave of Omaha, Nebraska and Jeanine Graham and husband John of Lovington; four grandchildren, Jaron Lynn Graham and wife Elizabeth of Lovington, Tyler John Graham and wife Amanda of Lovington, Aubrey Nicole Edmonds and husband David of Missoula, Montana and Brittany Diane Wiebelhaus and husband Scott of Omaha, Nebraska; and three great-grandchildren: Rylie Paige Weilbelhaus, Madeleine Claire Edmonds and Quentin Patman Graham and a host of friends. For those who wish, donations can be made to the Church of the Nazarene Life Center Fund, P.O. Box 715, Lovington, NM 88260. Condolences may be sent to www.kirbysmithrogers.com.
