Obituary of Melinda Ann Petree

Melinda Ann Petree June 29, 1964 - September 21, 2013 Graveside services for Lindy Petree, 49, of Lovington, NM will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 10:00 am at Lovington Cemetery with Pastor Dennis Jones officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Lindy was born in Lamesa, Texas on June 29, 1964 to Charles and Lois (Sinclair) Franks and passed away on September 21, 2013 at her home. She married Windell Petree on May 7, 1984 in Seminole, Texas. She was raised in Artesia, NM and attended school there. She has been a resident of Lovington since 1980. At one time she was employed at KFC and Subway and then was a dietary manager at Nor-Lea Hospital. Her joy in life was her husband, children and grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mom and grandmother and enjoyed being with her family. She enjoyed crafts but especially loved riding the motorcycle. She was preceded in death by her father and one sister, Becky Showers. She is survived by her husband, Windell, of the home, two sons: Cody Wayne and wife Brandy Petree of Artesia, NM and Chancy Ray Petree of Lovington; one brother: Charles Franks JR. of Oklahoma and one sister: Ronda and husband Clifford Van Curen of Artesia, NM; and three grandchildren: Coby, Dakota and Miley Petree.
